Made about a year ago, it was my first time building a sci‑fi corridor, and it allowed me to explore modular design, lighting, and real‑time interaction in a focused 7‑day production for the art test.
● At first, I wanted to make a Sci-fi lab, but I decided to make a sci-fi corridor because I
thought that it fits the modular
● Designed a modular sci-fi kit for flexible layout
● Also created low poly & high poly objects
UVs
Used Substance Painter to create surfaces and detailed textures. Also baked the
objects.
● Color palette: orange, gray, and blue
● I removed the red laser from the camera because I didn't like it in the end..
● Made materials from UE5
● Implemented Lumen for real-time global illumination
● Added Reflection capture (not in the pic)
● Adjusted Post Process Volume settings to enhance mood and color grading
Encountered a Player Start “BAD SIZE” error during testing.. Resolved by adjusting collision settings and repositioning the spawn area
● Integrated First Person Character using UE5’s content pack for immersive control
● Changed to Scable from the Target Hardware
● Changed the Shadows to Medium from the Salability groups
A “BAD SIZE” error occurred at the Player Start due to overlapping collision volumes.
The issue was resolved by removing unnecessary collisions from surrounding meshes and
repositioning the spawn point.
This ensured stable player spawning and improved
